Mouse That Roars

This is a picture of some mice.Sometimes I wonder what inspires scientists to initiate research projects that seem to have little relevance to helping mankind or animals.

For instance, "Scientists create 'fearless' mouse," which I read online yesterday amazed me. It seems that a mouse in Japan has been genetically altered not to fear cats. And this is important because?

I sit here scratching my head, bewildered, as I consider the huge amount of money that has to have been spent on what seems to be a project that has no redeeming qualities. Could it really benefit mankind, or for that matter, cats and mice? I would bet my bottom dollar that that money could have been spent on something really vital.

Nice Mice: Rodent Lovers Unite

While doing a little Internet surfing with my wireless optical "mouse," I was surprised to find that there is a whole world out there of folks who are mouse lovers. I personally think that mice are just too adorable. I am told they make great pets. One of my friends, Vyvern, shared her photo of a rex mouse.

Groups of mouse fanciers that hold shows abound, so I learned. Like us cat lovers, they too "eeeek" out enjoyment through competition. Mouse association standards are stringent for sure.
