"At what age should I adopt or purchase a kitten?" is a question that I have been asked many times. Serendipitously, my good friend, Kasparcat, sent me an email today, which contained excellent information on this subject.
Reputable breeders agree that kittens should not leave their mothers until at least 12 weeks-of-age This extra time allows them to mature sufficently, to bond with humans, and to be fully socialized with their siblings. RP Cathouse's classic red and white kitten born on 9-25 is almost ready to go to his new home.
Maxie, a special 10 year-old dog, rescued and adopted by Jessy, aka RUSTYSGOLDEN when Maxie was only a wee 4 day- old puppy. Jessy discovered the pup. abandoned and clinging to life. With Jessie's excellent care, Maxie developed into an adorable dog.
Jessie and Maxie continue to remain inseparable . Best of friends, Maxie graciously allowed Jessy to dress her in holiday attire

Castro oriental shorthair talking
The holiday season is very special to me. Giving gifts to folks I care about is one of the highlights. I also adore showering my kitties with new toys. I get such a kick out of their high spirits as they tear into the gift wrapping to find a treat.
Last night while watching TV, I heard a strange noise coming from the hallway. I got up to investigate and found that the cats had opened the door to the closet, where I had carefully hidden one of their presents. I suspect that the aroma of fresh catnip drew them like a magnet. They managed to open the bifold doors and dragged the cardboard whale toy out of the closet.
Of course they got one of their presents in advance. At least Trouble, my white Oriental shorthair, fell in love with it, as you will see when you watch the video, "A Whale of a Cat Toy."
If Scottish Fold cats ring your bell as much as they do mine, you will adore this charming video uploaded by mumucoma of a very "stand up" playful orange tabby kitten.
This kitten has captured my heart. If he stole yours too, leave a comment and let us know.
At Woofstock in Harrisburg, Pa., a couple of months ago, my dog-nephew Leo received the royal treatment from masseur Jeff Brabant. Jeff and his wife Claudia also offer human massage, but this was, after all, Woofstock! Leo loved his massage.
Here's Claudia treating her own dog, Lexus Mercedes (a luxury rottweiler?), a former search and rescue dog who doesn't get up and down hills as well as she used to. Claudia noticed that Lexus was walking a little stiffly, but a massage and a refreshing drink of water put a visible spring back in this dog's step.

What do you think of massage for pets?
If you enjoyed Kitten vs. Rubber Chicken as much as I did, you will definitely love this new kitty video that was created by Aaron Rift of The Cat Diaries.
Cat lovers will get their daily dose of chuckles and "awws" while watching this entertaining video featuring a cat tower and two playful kitties having a blast climbing while at the same time taunting each other.
Isn't this the "cat's meow"? Enjoy a few moments of kitty delight and leave a comment.
My online buddy Sharon found a fantastic translation of the adorable Chatty Cats Video.
I think that video creator XSylvester's excellent grasp of "cat speak" has finally solved the mystery of what these two kittens are discussing. I almost fell off my chair at this one.
Remember the two kitties featured in the Chatty Cats video? I guess I'm a sucker for felines that express themselves audibly.
Watch this charming video of nedersten's gorgeous kittens chattering at birds outside their window. If you understand kitty speak, would you translate for us in the comments below and let us know what they're saying?
Need an extra kitten fix? Trust me, this will do the trick. Take a moment to watch this "awww"-some video from nedersten of a most contented Norwegian forest kitty.
Kelie uploaded this charming video with the comment: "Super Super Super Super cute." I have to agree. Wonder if this puppy is a Shakespearean scholar? He seems to be reenacting the famous line, "Friends, Romans, countrymen -- lend me your ear."
Watch this adorable video uploaded by DreamWelder of an "oh so sweet" love affair between a little boy and his very patient Labrador retriever.
I got Claude from a shelter 10 years ago, and I think she was never properly socialized as a kitten. She does this very strange four-pawed knead/walk around the perimeter of whatever pillow or blanket she's on, instead of the usual staying put and kneading with two paws. It looks like she's in litter box posture, but she doesn't spray or leave a scent or anything. Does anybody else's cat do this? Any idea what it means?
